Tournaments are a lot like parties; they’re fun, unpredictable, and they need people. To keep the party metaphor going, you’ll need to send out some invites.
Invite All Developers
The "Invite all users" setting is enabled by default. This means that, unless an admin has manually switched it off, invitations will be sent to all enabled developers.
Step 1
Navigate to 'Tournaments' from the top menu.
Step 2
From here you can either click the 'Create tournament' button to create a new one or open an existing tournament that is currently in draft.
Tip: For more guidance on how to create a tournament, please read, How to Create a Tournament
Step 3
Expand the "Advanced Settings" section and ensure that the "Invite all users?" setting is enabled.
- The tournament invitation email will be sent to enabled/active developers as soon as the tournament is published regardless of the start date
- Enabling this setting after the tournament has already been published, won't trigger the invitation email
- The tournament invitation email is a one-time email.
- Want to add a calendar event? Enable the calendar invite setting on the communications page. The tournament invitation email will include the tournament details and a registration link.
Example invitation email:
Make The Tournament Exclusive - Use Join Code
Important note: If a join code is being used to make the tournament exclusive to certain users/teams, we recommend that you disable the "Invite all users setting" in the tournament. Otherwise, an invitation will be sent out to all enabled users on the platform.
Step 1
Click Tournaments on the top menu, select a tournament then click Manage button which will direct you to Edit Tournament screen
Step 2
Type the join code or click the 'Autogenerate' button to create one.
Copy the join code which you can share via email with the teams or individuals you’d like to invite.
