In this article, we will outline whether an assessment that has been assigned as an end-of-course activity can be taken before completing the course.
This is dependent on different factors:
- If the assessment has been created with the "self assess" flag turned on, then users will be able to navigate to the assessments page directly to see and take the assessment.
- 2. If the assessment has been created with the "self assess" flag off and an additional flag when creating the course called "Only show link to end-of-course assessment when the course is completed" also switched off, then the user will be able to take the assessment before completing the course. This is because developers who have enrolled in the course will be able to see the link to the assessment and be able to take it.
This flag can be seen when setting up the course and selecting the end of course activity.
- If the "self assess" flag is switched off and the "Only show link to end-of-course assessment when the course is completed" flag is switched on then developers won't be able to take the assessment before completing the course, as they will not have access to the link till they have finished the course.
