Overview
For customers looking to integrate Secure Code Warrior learning with their Learning Management System (LMS), we provide the ability to download Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) packages for your customizable Courses and Assessments that can be imported into your LMS. This makes the process of integration simple and seamless as the SCORM standard is supported by the majority of LMS platforms.
Once the integration is set up, program owners can leverage existing LMS features and processes for rollout, notifications, reminders, and non-compliance follow up. Users will also have a consistent learning experience and a central place to go to for all their training needs.
Pre-Requisites
- A SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004 compliant Learning Management System
Adding a Course To Your LMS
Step 1
Create a Course by following the How to Create a Course article.
Step 2
In the Other Settings tab, tick the Enable LMS integration for this course setting under LMS Management.
A Course with LMS integration enabled will have the following automatically set in order to remove restrictions within the SCW platform and delegate management of user assignment, invitations, reminders, retries, time limits and end dates to the LMS.
- Course end date disabled
-
Invites and email notifications disabled
-
Automatic assignment for all company members enabled
If an Assessment has been set as the end-of-course activity , it will also have its LMS setting automatically enabled. In this case, completion of the Course will only be marked once the end-of-course Assessment is passed.
Note: In line with SCORM requirements, users must launch the Course from the LMS for completion results to be reported back to the LMS. As a result, Courses that have been enabled for SCORM will not be included in Course lists within the SCW platform for participants, and if a user navigates to a SCORM-enabled Course directly in the platform, a warning will be displayed.
Step 3
Save the Course and return to the Course Management screen to download the SCORM package for your Course.
Step 4
Import the downloaded SCORM package into your LMS. The process for this will vary significantly depending on the LMS you are using so please seek assistance from your Learning and Development team, or consult your LMS documentation for instructions on importing SCORM content.
