This article outlines how to include .ics calendar invites in course invitation emails. This helps users stay on top of deadlines and ensures that any changes to the course end date are seamlessly reflected in the users' calendars.
This feature is enabled by default. We will also provide instructions on how to switch it off or on.
- ICS calendar invites will be sent only if the course has the 'Enable email notifications' option switched on.
- ICS calendar invites won't be included in invitation emails for courses if the course has no deadline.
- If the course due date changes, the platform will send an email notification, and the calendar invite will be automatically updated.
- When removing users from the course, you can choose to notify them. If this option is selected, the corresponding calendar invite will be automatically cancelled and removed from the user's calendar.
- Depending on your calendar settings, the calendar invite may be added automatically. Alternatively, you can download the .ics attachment and import it into your calendar.
